Maddie completed her master’s at Western University studying individual differences in concept learning. Her research interests center on how people learn and use conceptual knowledge, the mechanisms that support memory updating and creation, and how prior knowledge is applied to new situations. Outside of research, she enjoys being active, searching for the best iced coffee in the city, and experimenting with new recipes.

Ewan is interested in how hippocampal mechanisms shape memory, and in turn, how memory shapes behaviour and perception. He completed his bachelor’s in computer science & cognitive science at UofT where he researched the impact of GenAI use on human creativity and dorsal-ventral stream emergence in ANNs. Outside of academics, he loves to make music and explore the world on his bicycle!

B.A. Honours in Psychology, Dalhousie University

Cate is interested in understanding the neural mechanisms that support learning and memory, how these processes change across development, and how adverse experiences may influence developmental outcomes. She is also interested in clinical psychology and the ways in which disruptions to typical development can impact psychological functioning and well-being. Outside of the lab, Cate enjoys baking for her friends and family, spending time outside, and reading.

University of Toronto Psychology Research Specialist, Computer Science Minor

Mohan is an honours thesis student in the Mack Lab. She is particularly interested in the underlying mechanisms of human memory and learning. She is currently working on a project investigating how attentional processes unfold during learning by tracking eye movements. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, discovering new recipes, and exploring matcha desserts around Toronto.

University of Toronto Psychology Research Specialist, Cognitive Science Major

Sangje is a fourth-year student in the Psychology Research Specialist and Cognitive Science Major programs. He is interested in learning about the cognitive processes that allow adults and children to navigate through the conceptually and perceptually complex world. Outside of the lab, Sangje enjoys to read, travel, and go thrifting!

University of Toronto Psychology Research Specialist, Bioethics and Sociology Minor

Linda was a thesis student in the MackLab and continues working on her project as a research assistant. She is currently a lab manager with the Duncan and Finn labs. She is passionate about cognitive neuroscience research, and is currently working on projects investigating semantic memory updating during category exception learning and the psychophysiological signatures of insight. She has additional interests in understanding how neurological and psychiatric disorders impact cognitive functioning. Outside of the lab, she enjoys bouldering, practicing ballet, playing guitar, and listening to live music.
